Mostly dry weather predicted in Kashmir, Rainfall likely on Friday-Saturday

The weather outlook for Kashmir suggests a mostly dry spell until the end of October, with the exception of a weak Western Disturbance expected to pass through the region during the Friday-Saturday timeframe. This disturbance may bring light rain or snow to higher elevations. On Saturday, most of the area is expected to experience predominantly cloudy conditions. In the Kashmir Plains, daytime temperatures are forecasted to reach 18 to 21 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to a minimum of 3 to 6 degrees Celsius.

Drug peddler arrested with contraband substance in Bijbehara: Police

Jammu Kashmir police in said that it arrested a drug peddler in Bijbehara Anantnag and recovered drugs from his possession. Police party from Police Station Bijbehara, headed by SHO Bijbehara, Rashid Ahmed Khan, arrested a drug peddler and recovered about 36.500 Kgs of Charas powder from his possession. He has been identified as Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Arwani Bijbehara. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he will remain in custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 244/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Bijbehara and further investigation has been initiated.

The investigations like KFT, LFT, and lipid profile tests have not been conducted for the past two months. Insiders said that there is a lack of coordination between the hospital authorities and the Supplier. Government constitutes tribunal to review ban over Shabir Shah’s JKDFP

The Government of India has constituted a tribunal headed by Justice Sachin Datta, Judge, High Court of Delhi to decide whether there is sufficient cause for declaring the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) as an unlawful association. In a notification, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) has set-up a tribunal headed by Justice Sachin Datta, Judge, High Court of Delhi to for the purpose of adjudicating whether or not there is sufficient cause for banning JKDFP headed by jailed Kashmiri separatist Shabir Shah. The move comes 15 days after the MHA declared Shabir Shah’s JKDFP as an unlawful association under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967—(KNO)

In a shocking, just hours after giving birth to quadruplets, a woman in north Kashmir's Kupwara district faced immense tragedy as three of her newborns passed away. The fourth baby, in critical condition, was referred to a medical institution in Srinagar for advanced treatment. An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll, Khalida, the wife of Shafaq Bhat, successfully delivered four babies at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Kupwara.
