ED seeks fresh charges against Farooq Abdullah in alleged JKCA scam

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a fresh application before a Srinagar court seeking fresh charges against former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and others involved in the alleged Jammu  Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) money laundering case. This follows the Jammu Kashmir High Court's decision last month to quash the case. According to official sources, the ED submitted its plea to the Principal District and Sessions Judge, requesting the inclusion of IPC sections 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) and 424 (dishonest or fraudulent removal or concealment of property) in the case. A Border Security Forces personnel was injured on Wednesday after an unprovoked firing incident took place from across the border in Akhnoor area of Jammu district. PRO BSF told GNS that today in wee hours at 02:35 AM, an incident of unprovoked firing was reported in Akhnoor area from across the border. They said befittingly response was given by the BSF. In this incident, one BSF constable namely Durba Jyoti Das sustained injuries in Pak firing, who was subsequently shifted to hospital, he said. Delhi's Patiala House Court has granted interim bail to Sheikh Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, a Member of Parliament from Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla constituency, until October 2. Rashid, who has been in Delhi's Tihar Jail since 2019, was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2017 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in connection with a 2017 militancy- funding case. A man posted with the 180th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Tral, Pulwama, died of cardiac arrest today, officials said. An official told News Vibes of India (NVI) that a CRPF personnel suddenly complained of chest pain, after which he was referred to the nearest medical health care center. He said the CRPF personnel later died of cardiac arrest. The man was identified as Jitender Singh, a resident of Baldhan Kalan village in Rewari district, Haryana. A minor old child was allegedly murdered in the Budgam district of central Kashmir. A police official confirmed to The Kashmiriyat, on Tuesday morning, the dead body of a two year child Zeeshan Ahmed son Bilal Ahmed Kalas was found in the lawn of his house in the Kachwari area of Budgam's Khan Sahab area.
