Rayees Shah The Srinagar-Leh highway was closed on Monday following fresh mudslides triggered by rainfall in the Kullan Gund area of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that thee highway was immediately shut down after the mudslides occurred this evening, completely blocking the route. Restoration efforts are underway with men and machinery deployed to clear the debris, they said. Additionally, the SSG road has also been blocked near Shah Mohallah Kullan, and traffic has been rerouted through an alternate link road.

Dr. Kaleemullah Lone, son of Ghulam Qadir Lone, the former general secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami, is gearing up to contest the forthcoming Jammu Kashmir assembly elections from the Langate constituency. One army trooper was killed in a militant attack on the Sunjwan army post in Jammu, news agency Global News Service reported. Danishwar Hameed In a tragic incident, a minor girl drowned while playing near an irrigation canal in the Laisoo Gudder area of Kulgam District. The minor girl identified as named Zaira Imtiyaz, daughter of Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat accidentally fell into the canal while playing nearby, officials told The Kashmiriyat. She was immediately rushed to the District Hospital in Kulgam for treatment. However, upon arrival, doctors declared her brought dead. Police reached the spot and took cognizance of matter.

One army man has been injured in a militant attack in Sunjwan area of Jammu City on Monday morning. According to reports reaching The Kashmiriyat, multiple gunshots were heard at Sunjwan Army Base in Jammu. As per news agency Asian News International (ANI), One Army jawan injured in the Sunjwan military station in Jammu after terrorists fired from a stand-off distance from outside the base. A man in his 60's was allegedly killed in a scuffle, following a confrontation over land dispute at Tarzoo village in north Kashmir's Sopore in Baramulla district, even as the accused has been arrested. Shabir Khan A tragic incident occurred in the Haritar area of Sopore where a minor drowned while bathing in Nallah Firozpora on Sunday afternoon.
