The police have registered a case against some ‘miscreants’ for assaulting a policeman when he had gone to the village to execute a warrant from the court against an offender in South Kashmir’s Shopian. Local sources informed the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a cop sustained grievous injuries after a police team went to Khurmpora village of Shopian to execute a court warrant. The team had gone to the house of one identified as Manzoor Ahmed. Sources added that some people mostly relatives of the accused assaulted a policeman there. Shah Basit The throat slit body of a man was found at his room in the Kupwara district of north Kashmir. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday meonin, the body of Abdul Hamid Khan, son of Gul Khan, a resident of Mir Muqam Awoora, was discovered this morning in his personal room. Khan, aged about 50 years and a laborer by profession, was found with deep cut marks on his throat. Upon receiving the information, a police party immediately rushed to the scene. 3 Tourists dead, five injured in Qazigund road mishap

Danishwar Hameed At least eight tourists were injured in a road accident at Nipora area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday afternoon., An official told The Kashmiriyat that a scorpio bearing registration number PB47F 8687 collided a tree at Nipora area of Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway road, resulting in injuries to eight tourists. The injured were immediately taken to nearby hospital for treatment where two among them is said to be in critical condition. Three of them succumbed to their injuries, hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat.
