A policeman has been shot at by suspected militants in north Kashmir's Tangmarg area. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown gunmen fired upon constable Ghulam Mohammad Dar near his residence in Tangmarg village on Tuesday evening. Sheikh Nadeem A mechanic, identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat, sustained critical injuries while repairing a tractor trolley in Ara Koshipora, within Anantnag District. According to local sources who spoke to The Kashmiriyat, Irfan Ahmad Bhat son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat and the owner of a tire repair shop in Ara-Koshipora, was seriously injured when the tractor trolley accidentally toppled onto his back during the repair process. The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has identified three eco-fragile zones in Jammu Kashmir, including Dachigam National Park, Thajwas Wildlife Sanctuary, and Overa-Aru Wildlife Sanctuary. According to a report by Daily Excelsior, to oversee these areas, a committee will be formed, consisting of an ecology and environment expert, a representative from a non-governmental organization focused on environmental conservation, and a biodiversity expert. According to the notification, no new commercial hotels or resorts will be allowed within one kilometer of the Protected Area boundary or the extent of the Eco-sensitive Zone, whichever is closer.
