Jammu  Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday evening arrested an Assistant professor of higher education department in a bribery case of principal of a degree college in Kashmir. Sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that one professor identified as, Tariq Ashai, who is the principal of GDC Pattan, was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rupees 60000 at SP College in Srinagar. They said that on receipt of the complaint, a FIR was registered, under section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Police Station ACB north Kashmir and investigation was taken up. Over one dozer shops were sealed by the officials in the Hyderpora area of the Srinagar district on Tuesday evening. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the Custodian Department of Jammu Kashmir sealed at least 15 shops in the IQ Mall at Srinagar's Hyderpora. They said that the officials of the said department have taken custody of the shops. Custodian Department of Jammu Kashmir, however, said that the shopkeepers have taken possession of the shops decades back and have not paid any rent to the department. "They have occupied the shops and despite several notices, these shopkeepers have failed to reach to the department," they said. An old Mortor rusted shell was found, destroyed by security forces in the Poonch area on Tuesday. A police officer told GNS that today around 11:20 am an old rusted shell was found in the Shahpur area during construction work on a road by GREF. Two persons, including a migrant worker, were found dead in mysterious circumstances in the Bemina and Batmaloo areas of Srinagar city on Tuesday, reports said. Quoting an official, news agency KDC reported that Babu Ali (65), son of Hussain, a resident of Jalalpur in Uttar Pradesh, was found dead at his rented accommodation at SD colony in Bemina. In a separate incident, Naseer Ahmad Lone, son of Habibullah, a resident of Baramulla, was found dead in his vehicle (Tata mobile) bearing registration no JK13G-0150 near Tengpora in Batmaloo by CRPF jawans of 73 BN this morning. A 62-year-old Kashmiri man on Umrah died in a road accident in Saudi Arabia's Mecca City. Identified as Ghulam Qadir Chopan, a resident of Awanpora in Budgam's Chadoora area, the Kashmiri man was reportedly hit by a vehicle in Mecca City. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
