‘Remove encroachments within 7 days or face action’: I&FC Department tells Ganderbal residents

The authorities have asked the residents to remove illegal encroachments along water bodies and "state land" in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district within 7 days or face action. According to a notice issued by Irrigation and Flood Control Department Ganderbal, if anyone fails to comply with the orders, he will be fined for violation of rules. The Supreme Court of India, on Monday, dismissed a petition which challenged the delimitation exercise carried out for redrawing the Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies in Jammu Kashmir. The petition was filed by two Srinagar residents-Haji Abdul Gani Khan and Mohammed Ayoub Mattoo. Man charred to death inside his vehicle in Anantnag

Sheikh Nadeem A man was charred to death after his vehicle caught fire in Panzgam area of Kokernag in south Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday morning, a vehicle suddenly caught fire and the man who was driving it was charred to death. The man has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Rather son of Mohammad Ashan Rather, a resident of Panzgam in Anantnag.
