Two non local labourers were injured after suspected militants shot at them in the Rakh e Moman area of south Kashmir's Bijbehara in Anantnag district. #"Terrorists fired upon & injured two outside labourers in Rakh-Momin area of #Anantnag. The Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday said that it registered a case against Lashkar-e-Toiba handlers and its offshoot TRF for issuing threats to journalist and reporters based in Kashmir. Over 25 persons were injured in a road accident that took place in Rameen Makhian area of Akhnoor in Jammu district on Saturday, reports said. Reports reaching to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the accident took place when a bus skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Rameen Makhian Morh. The district administration Ganderbal on Saturday ordered blanket ban’ on heating appliances in winter. A joinery mill was gutted in a massive blaze in Delina area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a massive fire broke out in the joinery mill in Delina area today evening. He said that in the incident joinery mill was completely gutted, however, timely action of the fire and emergency department prevented the fire from spreading further. A paramilitary trooper on Friday shot himself dead with his service rifle in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Dozens of ‘Permanent Daily Labourers’ [PDL] working in the Power Development Department in Kashmir Valley Friday alleged that they have been posted in far off Sub-Divisions as a result they face a lot of problems. At least 31 PDL posted in Kunzar falling under Sub-Division Tangmarg have been asked to join field duties in Baramulla and Kupwara Sub-Divisions. “We hail from different areas of sub-division Tangmarg but are posted in far-off places. The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed an appeal filed by the Jammu Kashmir administration against an order of the National Human Rights Commission to pay compensation of Rs 3 lakh each to the kin of 10 children who died in the Udhampur district due to the consumption of spurious cough syrup. A bench of Justices M R Shah and M M Sundresh said officers were found to be negligent and it does not find any reason to interfere in the matter. “Your officers are found to be negligent. They ought to have been vigilant. Don’t compel us to say things about the food and industry department. The health of citizens is in their hands. They don’t perform duties at all.
