Suhail Dar An encounter has broken out between militants and government forces in the Semthan area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday afternoon 3 RR of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a joint launched cordon and search operation in the Semthan area of Anantnag During the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, he said Two to three militants are believed to be trapped. Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a massive exchange of gunfire is on in the area.

Amid the prediction of wet weather in the first week of November, apple growers in Kashmir are caught in a deep sea as they are worried that they can't pick apples and carry out pruning simultaneously. Growers from different areas of Kashmir, mainly Shopian, told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that their 30-40 percent produce is still on trees and it is impossible to completely pick the fruit within two or three days. Abdul Rashid an orchardist from Ramnagri area of Shopian said that most of the apples in the area are still on trees and even some families have started apple picking just a few days ago. Sheikh Nadeem At least three people were injured in a road accident near the Larnoo Bridge in Larnoo area of south Kashmir's district Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday morning, a two wheeler bearing registration number JK07AM 0220 collided with an auto rickshaw with the registration numberJKO3F 3247, resulting in injuries to three persons. They said that the three were shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment, from where they were refferred to Anantnag's GMC for treatment.
