A male body was found in premises of GMC in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday. Official sources told Kashmir News Apex-(KNA) that some passersby informed the police about the laying of the body in premises of GMC Soon, they said, a police party rushed to the spot and recovered the body of around 70 year old male. So far, they said, the identity of the deceased could not be made and the same is being carried out. The body, they said, has been shifted to mortuary at GMC Anantnag. “After completing medico-legal formalities and confirming the identification, the body would be handed over to his legal heirs,” they added. In a significant decision, a local court here has held there is no absolute right of burial to the exclusion of others in a graveyard that is recorded to be in possession of Ahl-i-Islam in revenue records. An Army trooper was injured after a gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Sheeri Chandoosa area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday. As militants carried out a number of targeted killings recently, 10 Kashmiri Pandit families have left their village in Shopian district in south Kashmir out of fear and reached Jammu. The residents of Choudharygund said the recent attacks have triggered a fear psychosis among the Pandits who lived in Kashmir through the most difficult period of 1990s and did not leave their homes. Five residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in Tanki mohalla near Jamia masjid area of Srinagar district on Tuesday evening. Official sources told Kashmir News Apex- (KNA) said that five residential houses belonging to Ghulam Qadir Bazaz, Ghulam Mohammad Gonri, Mohd Ayub, Abdul Guffar, Bashir Ahmad Teli were partially damaged in a fire incident that broke out in Tanki Mohalla this evening. They said that F&ES with the help of police and locals doused off the flames to prevent any further damages.
