Former militant from Ramban booked under PSA

A surrendered terrorist was detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) for his alleged involvement in “anti-national and anti-social” activities in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, and lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu, officials said on Monday. The order for the detention of Mohammad Amin Wani, a resident of Bankoot village of Banihal, under PSA was issued by Ramban District Magistrate on August 25, stating that his activities are “prejudical to maintenance of public order”. PSA is an administrative law that allows detention without charge or trial for up to two years in some cases. Ahead of the Gandhi Jayanti, the Jammu Kashmir admin has released a month-long schedule for school celebrations. As per the notice, all J&K schools are expected to abide by this schedule. Gandhi Jayanti 2022 celebrations in J&K schools will now begin from September 5, 2022, as per the schedule released by the J&K admin, It even mentions that in all schools there will be a formation of Gandhi Club where all members will maintain cleanliness index of school premises. 37-year-old man found dead in Dooru

A 37-year-old man was found dead under mysterious conditions near a bridge in Changoo area of Dooru in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday morning. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that some people saw body of a man identified as Mohammad Saleem Kully son of Gull Mohammad of Changoo lying near Changoo bridge, following which they informed the police.
