Man arrested for extortion in Srinagar, fake pistol recovered

Srinagar Police on Thursday said to have arrested an extortionist who was using fake pistol for intimidation. Srinagar police said that one extortionist identified as Umer Qadir Dar son of late Gh Qadir Dar resident Harnambal Zaffar colony Natipora arrested, he was using fake pistol for intimidation. They said that two mobile phones, one laptop also recovered from his possession, in this regard, case under FIR No. 66/2022 registered at Police station Kothibagh. “One extortionist namely Umer Qadir Dar S/o late Gh Qadir Dar R/o Harnambal Zaffar colony Natipora, he was using fake pistol for intimidation. 02 mobile phones,01 laptop also recovered from his possession. 15 years on, PHC Tangmarg awaits completion

The residents of Chandil area of Tangmarg in north Kashmir's Baramulla district here have demanded that the new building of the Primary Health Center (PHC) be made operational. 28-year-young boy dies in fire extinguisher blast in Anantnag town

Suhail Dar A 28-year-old youth died in a blast while refilling a fire extinguisher at his shop near Ganjiwara in Anantnag town. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday that a  shopkeeper identified as Ahtisham Wani son of Abdul Rehman Wani of Bidder Kokernag in Anantnag was critically wounded during the blast after which he was rushed to Government Medical College in Anantnag. Inhabitants of Kamahpora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district are up in arms against the Jal Shakti department for ‘failing’ to provide adequate water supply to the residents.
