Teenage girl dies after hit by school vehicle in Bandipora

An 18-month-old girl was killed after being hit by a speedy school vehicle in Lankreshipora area of North Kashmir's Bandipora district on Saturday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the speedy school vehicle hit a girl at Lankreshipora, resulting in critical injuries to her. "Soon after the incident, she was rushed to district hospital Bandipora where from she was referred to SKIMS Soura. She, however, succumbed to her injuries," he said. The police on Saturday raided multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch in connection with a hawala racket that was unearthed with the arrest of two people who were allegedly routing money to militant outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba and Al Badr, officials said. Abdul Hamid Mir, a resident of Poonch, and Delhi-based garment trader Mohammad Yaseen were arrested from the Jammu bus stand and the national capital on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that mysterious fire broke out in the JNV school in Bonpora area of Kulgam district, resulting in injuries to one student. The student was shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, where the doctors referred him to Sher e Kashmir institute of Medical Sciences hospital in Srinagar.
