Ahead of the India's 75th Independence Day, Security has been tightened across the Kashmir valley and random frisking is being carried out too in city square of Srinagar along with other main towns of the valley. Reports reaching The Kashmiriyat said that Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) deployment has been beefed up in Kashmir to thwart any law and order situation and ensure smooth Independence Day celebrations scheduled on Monday (15 August). A multi-layer security arrangement with both aerial and ground surveillance has also been put in place across the region to thwart any untoward incident during Independence Day celebrations. Eight CRPF troopers injured in Sumbal road accident

Eight CRPF jawans were injured in a road accident in the Sumbal area of Bandipora district this evening, reports said here. Reports reaching the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 8 CRPF personnel of 164 BN e-coy were injured after the vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident near Sumbal. Grenade attack on CRPF bunker in Srinagar, one CRPF personnel injured

A CRPF Sub Inspector was injured after militants hurled a grenade towards CRPF bunker near Ali Masjid Eidgah area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Saturday. A senior police officer told GNS that militants lobbed a grenade on CRPF Bunker the grenade exploded with a loud bang on roadside. In this incident one CRPF SI namely Parvez Rana of 161 BN recieved minor splinter injuries. He was shifted to SMHS hospital for further treatment and is completely stable, the officer added. Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab fleeing militants.(GNS)
