A daily-wager employee with Jal Shakti department died while two other people were injured after they came under landslide in Darahl area of Rajouri district on Sunday. Official sources told GNS the trio, two of them working as daily wage employees with Jal Shakti department, and another a labourer were restoring a water pipeline at Sarran Simbli area of Darhal when the landslide suddenly occurred this afternoon. The residents of Ashtangoo area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district here have complained of dearth of staff at Primary Health Centre (PHC) in their area, which according to them has affected the patient-care. Srinagar, Aug 06 (KNO): Family members of a civilian, killed during Kulgam gunfight on Friday, have sought compensation as the slain was the sole source of income for the family. Manzoor Lone of Redwani Bala was killed during an encounter between militants and security forces in Kulgam yesterday. 2 CRPF Men Among 3 Injured in Kupwara Road Mishap

At least three persons, which included two CRPF personnel, were hospitalized after a CRPF vehicle had a collision with a sumo cab at Bumhama Kupwara on Saturday evening. An official told GNS that soon after leaving a petrol pump after refueling a sumo cab bearing registration number JK09-3332 had a collision with a CRPF vehicle near FCI store, resulting in injuries to at least two paramilitary troopers and driver of the sumo cab. The injured trio, the official said, was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Confirming the incident, a police official told GNS that a team was moved to the spot upon intimation. “We are assessing the circumstances which led to the accident”, the official further said. (GNS)

The Jammu Kashmir admin has decided not to allow Muharram procession on 8th Muharram through city centre here tomorrow. In a handout to GNS, the police said that the Muharram procession from Guru Bazar to Dal Gate in Srinagar has not been allowed by the authorities. “General public is requested to respect rule of law and don’t appreciate/endorse any rumour regarding procession or rally,” reads the statement. Two major processions of 8th and 10th Muharram were banned in 1989 by the then administration. Since then no processions have been allowed till now. An Unexploded old Shell exploded on early Saturday morning at Kralpora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, officials said. In a handout to GNS, the police said During early morning hours at about 0745 hours some loud sound was heard by inhabitants of Kralpora where some minority families also reside. The police spokesman further stated that SSP Budgam along with BDS team visited to incident site.
