Three members of a family-mother and her two sons were killed after a cloudburst hit a brick kiln in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday. The cloud burst struck at ‘Star-BDB-255’ Brick Kiln located at Chandapora Budgam. Hospital sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that three members of a family from Uttar Pradesh working at a brick kiln were brought to District Hospital Budgam in injured condition after a cloud burst. The trio including the mother and her two sons died in the hospital shortly after their arrival. While confirming the death of trio, a doctor identified the deceased as Bure Begum (45), wife of Saleem Mansoor, Qaisar Mansoor (20), and Muhammad Rayees Mansoor (21), sons of Saleem Mansoor. (KNT)

At least three non local labourers were killed after a cloud burst hit at brick kiln in central Kashmir's Budgam district. An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that cloudburst hit brick kiln at Chandapora where three non local labourers were working. He said trio were shifted to District hospital Budgam and have been identified as Saleem Mansoori 45, Kaiser Mansoori 20 and Mohammad Rayees 20 all residents of Bareli Up. At least two residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in Sopore locality of Baramulla district on Sunday evening, rendering three families homeless. An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) two residential houses were damaged at Chankhan locality, leaving three families homeless. He said that soon after fire broke out in the area, fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse off flames, however, two residential houses were damaged in the incident. He added that the cause of fire seems to be short circuit. Meanwhile, affected families appealed to the government to provide them assistance so that they can resume normal life. (KNS)

A 12-year-old boy died while three girls were hospitalised after consuming a poisonous herb in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Monday. The children were playing in a forest area near Rakhjaroh village in Batote area on Sunday when they consumed the unknown herb, a police official said. The police official said they fell unconscious after vomiting and were rushed to the Community Health Centre, Batote. One of children named Mohammad Basit died. 2 persons fell unconscious while cleaning well in Potashi Kupwara

Two persons fell unconscious inside a well while cleaning it in Potashi area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday. The incident took place around noon when the duo, Abdul Quyoom Sofi (37) and Rafeeq Ahmad Wangoo (40), both locals, were cleaning the well and fell unconscious apparently consuming some gas, official sources told GNS. One person namely Tariq Ahmad Mir, also a local, saw them falling unconscious and immediately entered the well and with the help of others rescued them, they said. Police on Monday arrested two persons for beating youth to death in central Kashmir's Budgam district. A senior police officer told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the two persons were held in connection with the death of a person identified as Fayaz Ahmed Najar son of Abdul Rashid Najar resident of Gurwaith Khansaib. He identified the arrested duo as Tahir Bashir Khan son of Bashir Ahmed Khan and Hilal Ahmed Lone son of Abdul Ganie Lone residents of Kachwari Khansaib.
