A day after the final delimitation report was released, residents of Drygam Khansahib in central Kashmir's Budgam district held a protest against the merger of their area with Charar-e- Sharief constituency. Protesters while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), alleged that it is an injustice with their area to merge the area with the constituency which is far away from the village. Army today paid tribute to Major Raghunath Ahlawat, who slipped to death at Uri, in North Kashmir’s Baramulla. A ceremony at BB Cantonment was held that was attended by Lt General DP Pandey, the GOC 15 Corps and all ranks of Chinar Corps. Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday said sterilisation and anti-rabies vaccination hold key to curb the menace of stray dogs in the valley. “Sterilising and vaccinating the dogs would effectively control their population, prevent rabies and reduce canine attacks,” said DAK President Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement issued to GNS. Shabir Khan A 40-years old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his home in the Dangerpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. 5,629 dog bite cases reported in one hospital of Kashmir in last one year

A whopping 5,629 bite victims, mostly of dog bites, were reported to the Anti-Rabies Clinic at Srinagar’s Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital in the last one year. The presence of dogs on every nook and corner has led to man-dog confrontation due to which the number of cases of dog bites has increased in the region, doctors say. An official from ARC SMHS told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that from 1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022, as many as 5,629 bite cases were reported to ARC SMHS and most of them were from Srinagar. Giving details, he said that 259 cases were reported in April 2021, 360 in May, 489 in June, 652 in July, 450 in August, 576 in September, 520 in October, 470 in November, 408 in December, 454 in January 2022, 394 in February and 597 in March. ...
