A soldier lost his life in an ongoing gunfight between terrorists and security forces in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur on Thursday. An Army official told news agency JKNS that based on specific intelligence, a joint operation was launched with Jammu Kashmir Police in the area. “Contact was established and a fierce firefight ensued,” the official said.
