A 19 - year - old left arm pacer, Mujtaba Yousuf from Kashmir has been called up for trials by Indian Premier League (IPL) side Mumbai Indian, after witnessing his impressive performance for JK T20 team in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournament, Hailing from a Bijbehara town of South Kashmir, Mujtaba played well in JK tournament and took five wickets in four matches. Apart from taking wickets, he was sensational and bowled spells during JK’s campaign in the tournament. 1st Female National Gold Medalist in Powerlifting from Jammu Kashmir, Meet Arifa Bilal

Arifa Bilal, from Ganderbal in Jammu and Kashmir is the first female who has won a gold medal in powerlifting. Back in her village, she is known as the iron lady in her village. Arifa is a black belt in belt martial arts too. Arifa, is currently a gym trainer and has won multiple state and national gold medalist in martial arts. She has won National award in volleyball and had also bagged awards in cricket as well. In a recently held powerlifting in Kashmir, Arifa fetched gold medal in 57kg. She lifted scouts 65kg, bench press 40kg, deadlift 90kg. In total she lifted is 190kg and was selected to participate at the national level. After huge public outcry over the issuance of eviction notices to tribal population and traditional forest dwellers and the axing of apple trees by forest department officials, the J&K Government on Monday started rolling out the Forest Rights Act 2006 (FRA) in Jammu  Kashmir.
