The protesters speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that the department has failed to provide drinking water to the said area for three weeks. The residents of Bonpora, Sheikh Mohallah, Shah Mohallah which included men and women, took streets of staged a strong protest against the lack of water. Irshad Hussain Scores of residents of Narabal and Check Kawoosa, Budgam held a peaceful protest at Narbal, Budgam against dilapidated conditions of roads in the area. The protestors raised pro justice slogans "Hamarei Saath Insaaf Karo (Give us Justice)" and demanded immediate attention from administration. The protesting residents raised slogans against R&B department of Budgam for having failed to macadamize the roads for years. People of the area alleged that they've complained to the R& B Department many a times and have requested them to look into the matter. The protestors said that they were assured of the improvement of the road but their promises proved futile so far.

A 60-year-old man on Tuesday died after he allegedly set himself ablaze in Quilmuqam village of North kashmir's Bandipora district. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the man, who was a labourer by profession, set himself ablaze at his residence by pouring kerosene oil. “With over 95% burn injuries, the injured man was rushed to district hospital Bandipora,, where doctors declared him dead on arrival," he said. The failure of Municipal Council Bandipora (MCB) to arrange a garbage dumping facility has evoked widespread resentment among the locals as heaps of domestic and market waste are lying scattered across the Bandipora town.
