In wake of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, the Kashmir Retailers Association (KRA) has appealed to Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to permit markets to remain open on the weekend when it’s otherwise supposed to remain closed for weekly Covid restrictions. Initiate the Process of Retiring Employees at Age of 48 or 22 Years of Service: JK Admin

In October last year,  administration had amended Article 226 (2) of the Jammu Kashmir Civil Service Regulations for a provision to retire at any time any government servant after he has completed 22 years of service or attained 48 years of age. The appropriate authority have to give either three months prior notice or three months of allowance to retire any employee, according to a notification issued by then Financial Commissioner. The residents of Chirpora village in South Kashmir's Anantnag are up in arms against the Jal Shakti department for failing to provide drinking water in the area. Missing since 3 days, body of govt employee found in Anantnag

A 52-year-old employee of the Jal Shakti department, who was missing, was found in the Harnag area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday evening, officials said. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that some locals spotted the body of the missing employee, identified as Farooq Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Rasool Shah of Parigam Kulgam, lying at Harnag area of Anantnag and accordingly informed the concerned police station. “Immediately, after receiving the information, a police team of Khanbal Police Post reached the spot and took the body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities,” he said. ED sends demand notice of Rs 14,40,000 to SAS Geelani

The Enforcement Directorate has sent a demand notice of over 14 lakh to Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani asking him to deposit the penalty amount, imposed upon him under Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, within 10 days. Two persons were detained on Tuesday under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) for their alleged involvement in unlawful and anti-national activities in Jammu Kashmir's Ramban district, officials said.
