DBU Fraud: Each affected student to get 10 lac compensation, resettlement

The Desh Bhagat University had enrolled nursing students over and above the prescribed number of seats in the colleges. Srinagar resident detained for posting ‘hateful’ content against slain Police officer

Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) has detained Irfan Malik, a social media user from Srinagar, for posting hateful and abusive content against the slain DySP of J&K Police, Humayun Muzammil who killed in Kokernag Encounter. Preliminary analysis of his social media accounts revealed that he was also promoting terrorism and threatening security forces. An army man died, while another one was injured after service rifle of one of the army men accidently went off in Bapora area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district. Rajouri encounter: One more militant, Policeman killed; toll 4

One more militant and a police SPO were killed in a gunfight in Rajouri district, officials said on Wednesday. In all, two militants, an army soldier and the SPO were killed in the gunfight, they said. Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, PRO (Defence) Jammu, told GNS that Indian Army and JKP have been tracking two militants since September 7. A heavy firefight on September 12 led to the death of one militant at Narla area of the district, he said. Despite challenging weather and terrain, he said, the second militant was neutralized today.
