Duo Injured in Leopard Attack in South Kashmir’s Kulgam

SOUTH KASHMIR
  In Damhal Hanjipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday afternoon, two residents were injured in a leopard attack. Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the leopard attacked and injured the injured residents identified as Ghulam Mohammad Dar, 55 and Javid Ahmad Dar, 35 of Damhal Hanjipora village. The duo was on way to their home from the forest area of Balnard when the feline attacked them separately, the official said. Block Medical Officer, Shugufta Salam said that after initial treatment at SDH, Damhal Hanjipora both the injured were shifted to District Hospital Kulgam for specialized treatment.

  On Monday, authorities informed that one way Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) traffic from Jammu towards Srinagar shall be allowed on the Srinagar-Jammu highway tomorrow subject to fair weather and better road condition. It announced that no vehicle shall be allowed before and after cut off timing. The case was registered after the woman, identified as Tahira Begum, approached a local court and sought FIR against her husband Rafaqat Ahmad Lone, a resident of Mundya Nagam, Keran in Kupwara. A 22-year-old youth has been injured in his left eye after being hit with pellets fired by government forces to disperse protesters amid a gunfight at Rawalpora area in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Sunday. A local militant was killed in an overnight gunfight while a US-made M-4 carbine and 36 Armour piercing rounds were recovered from the slain militant, according to a tweet by the army.
