Unidentified Male Body Found in Verinag Anantnag

Waris Shah The body of an unidentified man has been recovered in South kashmir Kapren Village of Verinag in Anantnag district on Wednesday afternoon. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday they spotted the body lying in an open area in the Kapran Verinag area and immediately informed police about it. Soon after being informed, a police team rushed to the spot and took the body into their possession after having recovered the body. The identity of the man is being ascertained. Details emerging.

CASO Launched by Joint Forces in Shopian Area

The Government Forces on Wednesday morning  launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Watoo area of the Shopian district of South Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a search operation has been launched jointly by forces including RR of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF in Watoo area of Shopian. All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed on Wednesday morning, and a door-to-door search operation has begun, Locals told The Kashmiriyat. Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched as an Anti Militancy operation on May 2, 2017, amid a rise in the local recruitment into Militant groups in the Kashmir valley. The Forces jointly conduct search operations in a specific area, locking down the area virtually and frisk houses.

Dozen Structures Damaged as Fire Breaks Out in Nehama, Kulgam

Danishwar Hameed A fire broke out in Nehama locality in Kulgam in the afternoon of Tuesday damaging several residential houses and shops. The blaze erupted at around 1 pm and quickly spread to adjacent shops and residential houses. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was put out after two hours. At least a dozen structures had been damaged in the fire, he said. “The losses are massive but we cannot put out a figure just now. It will be assessed later in the day,” the official said. The fire broke out from the residential house of Abdul Satar Wani & spread to adjacent shops and residential houses.

Carpenter Dies after Falling from a Rooftop in Ganderbal

Basit Shah   On Sunday, a carpenter from Kashmir, died from falling of a roof top in Ganderbal. The deceased was identified as Ghulam Hassan Khattan (53) who was a resident of Harwan in Kashmir's central district, Srinagar. Ghulam Hassan, fell off the roof of the newly constructed house that belonged to Ishfaq Agmed Chechi. After falling from the roof top, Ghulam Hassan was rushed to SDH Kangan, where the attending residents declared that he was brought dead to the hospital.
