Meer Irfan A counterfeit gold ornament racket has been busted in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that one accused Sajad Ahmed Zargar, a resident of Pulwama was selling fake gold to customers in the south Kashmir town, after which he was arrested by the Police. The official said that Pulwama Police station had received a series of complaints against the accused Sajad Ahmed, who owned a jewelry shop in the Al Ahad complex in Pulwama town named Diamond Jewellers had deceived customers with counterfeit gold ornaments. The complaint further added that the accused has been engaging in this fraudulent activity for an extended period. A teenage boy drowned in river Sindh near Wayil bridge in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Wednesday even as rescue operation has been launched, official said. Expressing serious concerns over the losses to agriculture, people of several areas depending on Dal Kul to irrigate their fields Monday said that their hard work is going to waste without a water supply. Known as Dal Kul, it irrigates areas like Bumhama, Durgmulla, Muqam Shahwali, Banday Mohallah and other adjoining areas.
