Two minors drowned in river Jhelum in Shatulpora Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday. Reports reaching Kashmir Scroll said that two minors while taking bath in Shatulpora and soon after the incident, teams of Bandipora police joined by locals launched a rescue operation to trace them. Overnight rains brought some respite from hot and humid weather conditions as night temperature recorded a drop at most places in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, officials said. A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar received 1.2mm of rain, Qazigund traces, Pahalgam 1.1mm, Kupwara 0.2mm, Banihal 1.4mm, Batote 8.6mm, Katra 2.2.mm and Bhaderwah 0.4mm. The Mutton Wholesale Dealers Association has appealed to the Jammu Kashmir administration to notify sales points for selling sacrificial animals for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha in Kashmir Valley. The Association has also appealed to ensure hassle free movement of trucks laden with sacrificial animals on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. Authorities usually identify the sales points at Eidgah, Shalteng , Bypass Nowgam and Buchpora but so far no sales points for sacrificial animals have been identified and announced. The upcoming Eid will be celebrated on June 29th. RBI imposes monetary penalty on Jammu Kashmir Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a monetary penalty on three private and public sector lenders on Friday. The central bank charged Jammu & Kashmir Bank with ₹2.5 crore penalty, while the BSE-S0003537" data-name="Bank of Maharashtra">Bank of Maharashtra faced a fine of ₹1.45 crore. Axis Bank received the least amount of penalty among them to the tune of ₹30 lakh. The penalties were imposed on June 22nd in these three banks. Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday frozen the bank savings and other financial instruments amounting to Rs 18,36,611 of a notorious female drug peddler and her family in north Kashmir's Bandipora district An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the action was taken under the provisions of the NDPS Act after the seized assets were identified as proceeds derived from illegal sale of narcotic drugs. Sweltering heat conditions continued unabated in Kashmir Valley as Srinagar recorded season’s hottest day and 2nd warmest June day in a decade on Thursday. A meteorological department official here told GNS that the maximum temperature in Srinagar soared to 34.8°C and it was 5.6°C above normal for the season. Today’s temperature surpassed the previous highest of 34.0°C recorded only yesterday and was the second warmest day in June in a decade, the official said. Administrationt has reportedly terminated two doctors who were part of the post-mortem team in the infamous Asiya Neelofar Shopian rape and murder case. Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that Dr Bilal Dalal and Dr Nighat Shaheen have been terminated from their services by the government.
