Police opens fire after observing suspicious movement in Budgam, No injury

Police on Wednesday opened fire after Observing Suspicious movement near Imambara area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district. A top police officer told GNS that security forces opened some gunshots this evening near Imambara after observing some suspicious movement. Meanwhile, during some gunshots, a wagon R vehicle was hit with bullets. However, there was no one injured in this incident, the officer added. More details will follow.(GNS)

Special Investigation Unit Srinagar of police on Wednesday presented chargesheet against two LeT/TRF militants, one killed militant before the Court of NIA Srinagar. In a handout to GNS, the police said that its SIU presented chargesheet in case FIR No 50/2022 under sections 307, 302 IPC ,7/27 IA Act 13, 16, 18, 20 & 38 UA (P) Act of Police Station Soura against 02 active militants and a killed militant. According to police spokesman, on 24th of May, 2022, unknown militants fired upon one police personnel namely Saifullah Qadri son of Muhammad Syed Qadri and his minor daughter Safa Qadri resident of Malik Shab Soura Srinagar, in which police personnel got killed and his minor daughter was injured. Toddler drowns to death in Budgam village

A toddler drowned to death on Wednesday afternoon in Danas area of central Kashmir's Budgam district. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a 2-year-old boy was playing when he drowned in Nallah Sukhnag and soon after the incident locals and officials started rescue operation. He identified him as Talib Ahmad Ganie son of Khursheed Ahmad Ganie of Danas Budgam. The official said that his body was later recovered by the locals from the river—(KNO)

An elderly tourist from the Dehrdun area of Uttarakhand on Monday went missing after a hotel was gutted in a fire mishap in the Pahalgam area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district. ‘Mobile wine shop’ sealed in Srinagar district

The Excise Department Monday sealed a mobile wine shop on Boulevard Road in Dalgate area in Srinagar city. Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a mobile container selling liquor to customers was sealed after the operator failed to produce a registered license. Sources said that an inspection was conducted by the excise department team and it sealed the mobile wine shop. Scores of people mostly tourists were seen buying liquor from the mobile shop when the container was sealed. Reliable sources said that the customers were being over-charged for every bottle of branded liquor.
