Search Lights Installed, Door to Door Search Operation Continues in Shopian Area

August 24 The Government Forces on Friday jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the the Moolu Chitragam area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Moolu Chitragam area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Moolu Chitragam locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. The forces installed LED Lights as a massive door to door search operation is underway. Pertinently Moolu Chitragam is the native to Mufti Tariq of Hizb ul Mujahideen. (The Kashmiriyat)  

Redwani Residents accuse forces of Vandalization

August 24 The locals of Redwani area in Quimoh belt of South Kashmir's Kulgam District have accused the forces of Vandalization in the area. Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that the forces after failing to find anything during a Cordon and Search Operation in the area, vandalized property in the area. They Said that the forces broke window panes of the houses and damaged vehicles before they were about to leave the area. They alleged that the forces also fired shots at the civilian protesters injuring many who have been shifted to the Hospitals. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government Forces including 55 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a joint Anti Militancy operation in the area following specific input about Militant presence in the Putrigam area. Locals said that a heavy contingent of Forces have reached the area and are conducting a search operation in the area. The search operation was going on when this report was filed.

August 24 Shabir Khan A residential house was gutted in a fire mishap in the Sopore town of North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a residential house in Sadiq colony Sopore belonging to one, Zaffar Ahmed War was damaged partially in a fire mishap which broke out on Friday morning. August 24 One Militant body has been recovered so far from the encounter site at Khatana Mohallah in Godal area of South Kashmir's Kokernag area on Friday. Police officials informed The Kashmiriyat that after a massive exchange of gunfire, the firing has stopped now and the forces are jointly conducting search operations in there. "One body has been recovered so far, but the forces are still searching the area, as more bodies are believed to be under the rubble,"a police official posted in Koernag told The Kashmiriyat. August 22 Mir Musavir A teenage boy died in a road accident while one more was injured when a Maruti car hit their bike in Quimoh area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 15 year old Umair Rehman died on the spot after being hit by a Maruti car near on a main road in the Quimoh locality. An eyewitness told The Kashmiriyat that his cousin Shahid Ahmed a resident of Rooh in Islamabad (Anantnag) district was also injured in the road accident. The injured was shifted immediately to the hospital after being injured in the road accident. Umair Rehman, a resident of now wath area in Danter of Islamabad (Anantnag) was studying in class 9th and had left home to visit his cousin on eid day.
