Policeman Shot Dead in Pulwama

PULWAMA
August 22 Unknown persons on Wednesday shot at a Policeman in Louswani area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown gunmen fired at  Muhammad Yaqoob, a police constable outside his house at Louswani area of Pulwama. The Policeman was shifted to the nearby hospital immediately, but upon reaching the hospital the officials declared him dead. Earlier on Wednesday, unknown gunmen had killed a Policeman from Sangas area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District.

CASO Launched on Eid Day in Kulgam Area

August 20 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Ghat area of Redwani  in South Kashmir's Kulgam District. Late afternoon on Eid day (Wednesday), the forces including RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Ghat area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Redwani locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. A search operation was going on when this report was being filed.

Police Barge Inside Eid gah Islamabad, People Disallowed to Move Towards Eid Gah

August 22 Government Forces barged inside the Eid Gah of Islamabad with their vehicles and fired tear smoke shells inside the historical Eid Gah here. Many tear smoke shells landed inside the space reserved for women, eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat. Paramilitary troopers had also sealed the entry and exit ways to Eid gah on the main road that connects rest of the District to the Eid Gah. The tear smoke shells caused breathing problems to many women and old as well as children, and people were seen running in chaos for safety. Late afternoon on Monday, the forces including RR of Indian Army sealed all the entry and exit points to the Najar Mohalla area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Achabal locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. Eid Prayers to be offered at Islamabad Eid Gah at 9:30 am

August 20 The Jamia Masjid Auqaf committee met early morning today and after threadbare discussion it was decided that the prayer timings for Eid ul Adha at Eid Gah janglat Mandi will be 9:30 am. The Members unanimously asked people to offer Eid Prayers at Eid Gah, Hanfiya (Janglat Mandi) which will be offered at 9:30 am accurately. They also said that Mirwaiz South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed yasir will start his Eid sermon by 8:30 am. "Special and separate arrangements have been made for women also," a Member of the Jamia Masjid Auqaf Committee Islamabad told The Kashmiriyat.

Youth Goes Missing from Pulwama, Has Likely Joined Militants

August 20 A youth has gone missing from his home in Bathnoora area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District since the last week. Locals from Bathnoora told The Kashmiriyat that Yawar Wani son of Ali Mohammed wani aged 19 has gone missing from his home in Pulwama. The family looked for their some everywhere, but could not locate him after which they said they filed a missing report in the Police Station, Locals said. There are rumours in the area that Yawar has joined the Militant outfit, Al Badr. Meanwhile a photograph of Yawar claiming that he has joined the Militant outfit.
