Second CASO Launched in Pampore

July 02 The Government forces have laid down a Cordon and search operation in Wuyan Area of Pampore area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Monday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that  RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. A Door to door search operation has been launched in the area. Earlier a CASO had been launched in Zaffran Colony of Pampore Area.

Massive Fire Engulfs Kulgam Area, 3 Residential Houses Damaged

July 02 Two Residents Houses were partially and one completely damaged when massive fire engulfed the Sheikh Mohallah area in Bongam area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Monday morning. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the house of one Mohammed Yusuf Sheikh from the locality was completely gutted in the fire. People and fire services tried to doze off the fire, but not before it has damaged three residential houses in the Kulgam area. The immediate reason of the fire could not be known. Mohammed Yusuf Sheikh while speaking to The Kashmiriyat demanded compensation from the Government as he has been forced to stay outdoors.

July 01 A cordon and search operation has been launched by Government Forces in the native village of Bashir Lashkar at Soaf Shali Kokernag in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Ananatnag) district late night on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 19 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police immediately laid cordon around the area after militants earlier offered Gunsalte to their slain colleague, Bashir Lshakar on his first death anniversary. Locals said that the forces have laid siege around three villages namely Soaf Sahli, Hangalgund and Nagum. They said that three youth have been arrested from the Nagum area. Militants Offer Gun Salute to Bashir Lashkar on First Anniversary

July 01 Militants on Sunday night appeared in Soaf Sahli, the native village of Bashir Lashkar and fired shots in the air to offer gun salute to their slain commander. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a group of seven to eight Militants appeared in the area shouting slogans in favour of Bashir Lashkar at his native area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Another South Kashmir Youth Joins Al Badr

July 01 Another Youth from South Kashmir has joined Militant ranks making him reportedly the 90th youth to have joined Militant ranks this year. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Dar Shakeel, a resident of Chillipora area in South Kashmir's Shopian has joined Militant outfit, Al Badr. The 22 year old was missing from his home in Chillipora which is a nearby area to Heff Shermal, the home to many slain commander including Saddam Padder and Waseem Shah. South Kashmir have been joining Militancy swiftly since the three encounters of April 01 when 13 Militants were killed in a single day. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that they are checking the authenticity of the photo that has appeared on the internet.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the 3 RR of Indian Army, 14 BN of CRPF and SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police have launched the operation jointly. The operation that was launched following a specific tip off about the presence of Militants in the area is still going on. Details emerging.

July 01 The Kokernag and Dialgam belt of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) are observing a complete shutdown on the first anniversary of Slain commander of Lashkar e Taiba, Bashir Lashkar. Shops, Business establishments, Educational Institutes are shut in the area while vehicular movement is very thin in the areas. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of people have visited soaf, the native of Bashir Lashkar since morning to offer Fateh to the slain Militant commander. Bashir Ahmed wani, one of the most popular commanders of Lashkar e Taiba was killed in an encounter with Government Forces in Islamabad District on July 01.
