Jammu Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday said that G-20 event commencing on May 22 in Srinagar will put Kashmir’s age-old hospitality on display on international platforms and the event will help give a big boost to tourism and UT’s economy. 15 sheep killed in suspected leopard attack in south Kashmir

In a suspected leopard attack over a dozen sheep have been killed and a half-dozen injured in a far-off village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said. The incident occurred in the Wantrag Ranbirpora hamlet of the district. Officials said that 15 sheep belonging to four persons died in the attack while 6 are injured. They said joint teams have been formed and traps placed to capture the big cat. One of the locals from the hamlet told the news agency Kashmir News Trust over the phone that one lamb is also believed to have been taken away by the animal. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted raids at several locations across the Kashmir Valley in a case related to terror conspiracy. Kupwara resident electrocuted to death in Srinagar

A Kupwara resident was electrocuted to death on Sunday near Noora Hospital in Srinagar. An official said that the man identified as Zahoor Ahmad Lone son of Farooq Ahmad Lone of Badnambli village of Kupwara district got electrocuted when he was painting an electric pole near Noora hospital. Sopore woman’s body fished out from Jhelum after 20 days

A body of a woman who had drowned in the river Jhelum in the Dokalbal Sopore area of North Kashmir on April 22 this year, was fished out after around 20 days, officials said on Saturday. An official told news agency— Kashmir Scroll that the woman had river into the river Jhelum at Dokalbal Sopore on 22 April. Efforts were made to retrieve her body shortly after the incident, but all in vain as authorities failed to retrieve the body. The official said her was retrieved by the locals of Baramulla today following which the body was taken to GMC Baramulla. School bus meets accident in Rajouri, 12 children injured

At least twelve students were injured when a bus they were traveling in met with an accident in Rajouri district on Friday. Official sources said that school Bus of TMT School Nowshera met with an accident near Rani Badetar Road Chingus under the jurisdiction of police station Rajouri. Twelve students traveling in the bus were injured and shifted to a local health institute. Later one student having suffered multiple leg fractures has been shifted to SDH Nowshera.
