Leh resident allegedly hangs self to death in Srinagar

A man from Leh allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to death at a local hotel in the summer capital Srinagar on Friday. An official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that a man identified as Youtan Kunskyap son of Rinchan Nurboo, a resident of Benzom house Sakti in Leh UT allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to death at a locmedico-legale. The body was shifted to SMHS hospital where medico legal formalities are being conducted, he said. The reason behind his action could not be ascertained immediately, the official said adding, that proceedings have been launched in this regard.(KDC)

Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries has given a shutdown call On March 11 against the imposition of property tax in Jammu Kashmir. Director General of Police has "attached", till further orders, a police officer after 'some allegations of professional misconduct' against him. "In view of some allegations of professional misconduct, Adil Mushtaq DySP KPS-155772 (SDPO Nowgam) is hereby attached with the office of Special DG Crime, J&K till further orders," reads an order by DGP, a copy of which lies with GNS. A non-local man was seriously injured after his wife allegedly stabbed him with a knife in the Jawahar Nagar area of Srinagar uptown. The man identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Amritsar Punjab, presently staying in a rented house with his wife at Jawahar Nagar is undergoing treatment at SMHS Hospital and his condition is stated to be critical. 50-year-old woman found dead in open field at Poonch

The body of a 50-year-old woman was found under mysterious circumstances in Poonch district on Wednesday, officials said. An official told the news agency GNS that the body was found by police in an open field near Ari Bridge at Mendhar area of the district on Wednesday morning. The deceased was later identified as Shahmim Akhter (50) wife of Mohammad Ashraf of Ari village. A 21-year-old non-local was among two persons succumbing to their injuries caused in separate road mishaps in Bijbehara and Sopore.
