Authorities in Jammu Kashmir have issued a ‘food alert’ asking consumers to stop using ‘Sweetened Condensed Partly Skimmed Milk’ (Nestle Milkmaid). In this regard, a notice has been issued by the administration of Jammu Kashmir’s office of the Commissioner Food and Drugs Administration. In a significant move, the Jammu Kashmir Admin has ordered an inquiry into allegations against president municipal council Anantnag. Danishwar Hameed Inhabitants of Reshipora, Ahmadabad in Damhal Hajnipora area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Friday staged a protest against the PHE Department for failing to provide adequate water supply. Miffed over the erratic supply of drinking water, the residents hit the streets and demanded that the district administration should provide them with an adequate water supply. The Delhi High Court has declined to transfer from Tihar Jail to Srinagar Jail a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant, who is serving life term in a UAPA case, considering the law and order repercussions expressed by the authorities after evaluating the security risk. Unidentified man found hanging from tree in Srinagar

An unidentified man was found hanging from a tree at Al-Maroof Colony area of Ahmadnagar in Kashmir capital Srinagar. Reports reaching news agency Kashmir Dot Com that one unidentified man believed to be of Gujjar community was found hanging on a tree at Al-Maroof Colony here. A police officer confirmed the incident and said the body of the man was spotted by some locals of the area and accordingly informed the police. A police team was immediately sent on the spot and took the body into their possession for medico-legal formalities, he said, adding that the identification of the man was being ascertained. Four persons including a wildlife employee were injured after being attacked by a bear in Chattrogam area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday. Migrant worker injured in Anantnag militant attack on Nov 03, succumbs

A migrant worker, who was injured after being fired upon by militants in South Kashmir Anantnag district on November 03, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday evening at SKIMS Soura. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that two migrants workers were injured after being attacked by militants in Bondialgam area of Anantnag on November 03. He said that both the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment and one among them was referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment on November 04. Shopian villages hit with acute water shortage

Several villages in south Kashmir's Shopian district have been reeling under acute shortage of water for the past many years, causing hardships to the locals. The harsh winter is already knocking at the door of the village Shadab Karewa in South Kashmir's Shopian district, and residents of Bhat Mohalla, Khan Mohalla, Tulsi Mohalla and Mir Mohalla are suffering from a severe water shortage that is not expected to end soon.
