The forest department on Monday booked a bank official for allegedly involved in cutting down a tree in north Kashmir’s Rafiabad forest range of Langate. The incident came to fore after a video went viral on internet, following which a prompt action was initiated by forest department registered an FIR and logs were also seized. Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS), that some unknown persons had cut down the forest firewood tree in Rafiabad range in compartment No. 30 in Darbal Langate. Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo on Wednesday took a district-wise review on the present status of the lumpy Skin disease. He elaborated on controlling measures being taken up like vaccination, use of medicines, procurement of vaccines, and sample collection for testing through a presentation. ACS stressed upon the officers to complete a 100% target to vaccinate Lumpy Skin animals in every district to control the disease as early as possible.
