The JK administration under LG Manoj Sinha on Tuesday dissolved the management committee of Ziarat Sharief Hazratbal Khiram in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district and appointed SDM (Sub District Magistrate) Bijbehara as the management committee. “Deputy Commissioner Anantnag had constituted a committee under the chairmanship of SDM Bijbehara for examining the accounts of the shrine and other recommendations to conduct new elections for the selection of the committee to run the affairs of the shrine,” according to the government order, The SDM had also recommended a detailed inquiry into the affairs of the shrine, the order reads. Four family members were among six people who were injured in a leopard attack at Kreeri village of Dooru in South Kashmir's Anantnag in the last twenty four hours, officials said here on Tuesday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that six people were attacked by a Leopard in the last 24 hours leaving them injured. A minor boy in south Kashmir’s Anantnag and a teenager in Sopore of north Kashmir’s Baramulla died in fresh incidents of drowning on Sunday. Reports reaching GNS said that a 4-year-old boy Aleem Ahmad son of Fayaz Ahmad Rather, resident of Qaziabad Anantnag drowned while taking bath in a water body in the native area. Despite efforts made by the onlookers, the boy could not be however saved. Child mortality on decline in Jammu Kashmir

Child mortality rate in Jammu and Kashmir is on decline as infant mortality rate has decreased from 49 in 2008 to 17 in 2020. As revealed in the Sample Registration System (SRS) 2020-22 (survey period), Jammu & Kashmir has registered considerable improvement in various health indicators including Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) during the last year. The IMR has decreased from 20 to 17 in a single year. As per data available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the earlier neonatal mortality rate in J&K has declined from 33 in 2008, 32 in 2009, 30 in 2010, 26 in 2011, 25 in 2012, 24 in 2013, 22 in 2014, 18 in 2015, 15 in 2016, 13 in 2017 and 12 in 2018. Minor girl killed in leopard attack in Anantnag

Suhail Dar A minor girl was killed in a leopard attack in the Anantnag district's Gopalpur area. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday evening, a 6-year-old girl named Zubaida Jan daughter of Ghulam Mohiuddin Chopan was pounced upon by a leopard when she was outside her home. The family along with the locals tried to rescue Zubaida, however, the leopard left the minor girl with critical wounds leading to her death.

According to a Police press release, Police Post Putkha received a written complaint from one namely Manzoor Ahmad Ganie S/O Abdul Khaliq Ganie R/O Putkha Muqam, stating that his son namely Danish Manzoor Ganie left for Srinagar on 25 June 2022 for work, but neither he reached at the place of work nor back to home since he left. In a significant move, the poll body has ordered a revision of electoral rolls in Jammu & Kashmir for the first time after the August 5, 2019, constitutional changes. Kashmir Valley continued to swelter under heat wave with Srinagar recording season’s hottest day at 34.2°C even as monsoon rainfall brought about some respite to Jammu on Thursday. 91 % people in J&K visit government hospitals for treatment: Survey

Srinagar: Ninety-one percent people in Jammu and Kashmir visit government health facilities for treatment whenever they get ill while only 7.4 percent people visit private hospitals for treatment, the National Health and Family Survey-5 (NHFS-5) has reported. As per survey 87.2 percent people in Urban areas while as 92.5 percent people in rural areas of J&K which means 91 percent people visit government health facilities whenever they get sick.
