Two persons were killed after a vehicle (dumper) met with an accident at Ukhrall in Ramsoo sub division of Ramban district, officials said on Saturday. An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a vehicle bearing registration number (JK22B-9290) met with an accident at Kunchi village, Panchal in Ukheral resulting in death of two persons on spot. The deceased has been identified as a driver Tariq Hussain from Gugwal, Ramban and Suneet Singh, from Kunchi, Ukheral. "Bodies were handed over to families after legal formalities", official said—(KNO)

An Army soldier and a civilian has been injured in an ongoing gunfight at Rishipora area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday. A top police officer told GNS that during initial exchange if firing one army personnel and a civilian received bullet wounds. Both the injured have been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, the officer said. Meanwhile exchange firing was going on when this report was being filed.(GNS)

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that one civilian identified as Farooq Ahmed Sheikh was shot at in his leg by suspected militants in Shopian's Keegam area, leaving him injured. Farooq Ahmed was shifted to the hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable. A conductor was charred to death while driver suffered injuries late last night after a truck caught fire under mysterious circumstances on Bandipora-Srinager highway at Shilwat area of Sumbal. A 27-year-old truck conductor was found dead inside truck in Khonkan Dalgate area of Srinagar on Sunday morning.
