Two injured after a branch of tree falls on vehicle due to strong winds in Ganderbal

Shah Basit Two labourers sustained minor injuries after a branch of tree falls on Tata Ace vehicle due to strong winds in Watlar area of central Kashmirs Ganderbal district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon. According to Locals, the heavy branch of tree fell over the vehicle bearing number JK01A-6368 due to strong winds at Watlar area resulting in injuries of two labourers identified as Shareef Ahmad Kasana S/O Mohd Ismail kasana and Meer Akbar Shah S/O Syed Rahim Shah both the residents of Yarmuqam Wooder Ganderbal. The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment, he said.

For 12 years, Pulwama villagers wait for restoration of filtration plant

The filtration plant in Ukhoo village of Kakapora belt of south Kashmir’s Pulwama has been out of order for the last 12 years, forcing the locals to drink contaminated water. They told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a water supply scheme as well as a water filtration plant was set up by the Jal Shakti Department in the village in 2006 and it was inaugurated by then MLA Pampore Zahoor Ahmed Mir. But the filtration plant has been defunct for the last 12 years and people drink contaminated water often leading to health issues. Injured constable from Pulwama succumbs at army hospital in Srinagar

A police constable, who was shot at and injured in Gudoora area of Pulwama on Friday morning, succumbed to his injuries, officials said. Pakistan’s parliament passes resolution denouncing Delimitation exercise in Jammu Kashmir

Pakistan’s Parliament on Thursday unanimously passed a resolution denouncing the alleged Indian attempt of demographic changes in Kashmir through a delimitation commission. Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who moved the resolution, said that the alleged Indian move is aimed at artificially altering the electoral strength of the Muslim majority in Jammu and Kashmir, state-owned Radio Pakistan reported. Youth’s body found inside Auto Rikshaw in Cheeni Chowk of Anantnag

Body of a 24-year-old youth was inside an auto rickshaw at Cheeni Chowk area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday. Official sources told GNS that the soon after information, police took the body in its custody and shifted it to GMC Anantnag.
