10-year-old girl dies after being hit by dumper in Awantipora

A minor girl died after she was hit by a dumper in Reshipora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the girl (10) identified as Areeba Arshad was hit by dumper, resulting in injuries to her. Rajouri man found dead in North Kashmir

A man from Rajouri was found dead in Drung Tangmarg area of North Kashmir Baramulla district on Monday afternoon. Hundreds of Trout fish found dead in Nallah Sindh, investigation started

The Fisheries Department in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district has started the investigation to identify the culprits responsible for the killing of trout fish in Nallah Sindh. A couple of days back scores of trout fish were seen dead in the Nallah Sindh at Sumbal Bala Gund area of Ganderbal district. Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that trout fish died due to possible use of bleaching powder. They said people who catch fish in the Nallah Sindh particularly later hours might have used the bleaching powder leading to the killing of trout fish. Assistant Director Fisheries Department Ganderbal, Salman Rouf confirmed the killing of fish. He said an investigation has been started and legal action will be taken against the culprits. [KNT]

Jammu Kashmir’s GST revenue for September at ₹563 crores

India’s gross goods and service tax (GST) revenue in September stood at Rs 1,62,712 crore, a growth of 10 per cent. In the corresponding month last year, the GST collection stood at Rs 1.47 lakh crore. It is for the fourth time that the gross GST collection has crossed Rs 1.60 lakh crore mark in the ongoing financial year. Of the total GST amount, Central GST stood at Rs 29,818 crore and State GST at Rs 37,657 crore. Integrated GST was at Rs 83,623 crore (including ₹41,145 crore collected on import of goods) and cess of Rs 11,613 crore. A healthy GST collection among other things reflects buoyancy in the economy.
