Road Accident in Awantipora- 2 Injured

PULWAMA
July 16 Two drivers were critically wounded when a truck and oil tanker collided near Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the drivers of both the oil tanker and the truck sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment. The accident happened near Padgampora bridge post which traffic in the area remained disturbed for some.

OGW Arrested in South Kashmir

July 16 The Jammu Kashmir Police has claimed to have arrested a Militant Over Ground Worker (OGW) during a raid in Pulwama District of South Kashmir. Police officials confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that an OGW namely Sabzar Ahmed Mir aged 29 was apprehended by Joint Team of Jammu Kashmir police and Pulwama and 3 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army. PHC Wachi Functioning in rented Rooms, Without Proper Staff

July 16 A public Health centre at Wachi area of South Kashmir's Shopian which lacks basic facilities and staff even after 6 years of its establishment. The residents told The Kashmiriyat that the non availability of the facilities at the centre is compelling patients to reach district or sub district hospitals. According to locals, the PHC was established in year 2013 and work on building was started in the same year however the building still awaits for completion as work on the hospital building is going at snails pace. Due to non availability of building, PHC is functioning in a rented four roomed house however at this PHC staff comprises of just a Pharmacist and one FMPHW, said a local Manzoor Ahmed. Massive Stone Pelting During CASO in Pulwama Area

July 15 The Government forces have launched a Cordon and search operation in Arihal Dangerpora Area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. Massive clashes erupted in the locality as soon Government Forces laid a siege around the area when scores of youth shouting pro freedom slogans hit the streets. A Door to door search operation has been launched in the area.

Police Arrest A Doctor and Chemist in Islamabad Township

July 15 The Government Forces have arrested two persons in Janglat Mandi area of South Kashmir's Islamabad township on Sunday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a chemist identified as Bilal Ahmed Ganie son of Mohammed Sultan Ganie, a resident of Shirpora was arrested from his shop in Janglat Mandi by Forces. Meanwhile Forces have also arrested a Doctor identified as Adil Rashid Shapoo son of Abdul Rashid Shapoo of Ashajipora of Islamabad township during the same raid. The Exact reasons of the arrest could not be known yet. Police Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the duo have been arrested merely for  questioning.

Brother of Saddam Padder Arrested During Nocturnal Raid

July 15 The brother of slain Hizb Militant Saddam padder from Heff Shopian has been arrested by Government Forces during a nocturnal raid in Heff area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the Government Forces raided the houses of three slain Militants and assaulted them before taking them into custody. 3 Arrested during nocturnal raids- Property Vandalized in South Kashmir

July  14 Three youth were arrested during nocturnal raids in Kakpora area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that government forces arrested three youth from Kakpora residency late night on Friday late night on Friday. The youth were identified as Sameer Ahmad brother of slain Militant Shakir, Sameer Ahmad brother of slain Militant Majid and Uzair Bokal. Police Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the youth have been arrested in connection with stone throwing in the area. Meanwhile Government Forces vandalised property in Soaf area of Kokernag in  South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District.

July  14 Two persons were injured in road mishap at Palpora Dailgam area of south Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Saturday.
