Islamabad Area Shuts Against Arrests

July 09 The Damhal Khashipora area in South Kashmir's Islamabad District observed a complete shutdown against the arrests of Civilians. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that at least three boys from the area have been arrested on 08 July on the charges of stone throwing. Intense Stone throwing clashes had erupted in the area after Forces allegedly torn down the posters of Slain Burhan Wani whose second anniversary was being observed on Sunday. During the clashes, as many as three boys had been picked up by Government Forces, but they have not been released as of yet, Locals told The Kashmiriyat. Schools and Shops remained shut in the area while vehicular movement was very thin on the roads as locals demanded the release of the arrested youth.

Aerial Firing to Disperse Protesters in Damhal

July 08 Government Forces on Sunday resorted to aerial firing to disperse protesters in Damhal Khashipora area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad District. Local sources told The Kashmiriyat stone throwing clashes begun in the area when two boys were arrested by the Forces. The troops fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters. “They fired in the air to disperse the crowds,” Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

July 08 Minor Clashes erupted in Nowdal Area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama District Sunday on the Second anniversary of Slain Hizb commander, Burhan Wani. July 08 Intense Clashes erupted in Dialgam Area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) area Sunday on the anniversary of Slain Hizb commander, Burhan Wani. Grenade Attack at Pulwama

July 07 Unidentified persons hurled a grenade on a CRPF Camp in Kakpora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Saturday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons hurled a grenade inside the camp of 183 Battalion of CRPF. As per initial reports nobody was injured in the attack. Details Emerging.

Militants Offer Gun Salute to Kulgam Civilians

July 07 Militants on Saturday appeared in Redwani area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District and offered Gun salute to the slain civilians, eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat. Eyewitnesses said that militants in a group of five to seven appeared in Redwani and fired in the air to offer gun salute to the slain civilians. Three youth including a 16 year old girl who were shot dead by Government Forces hailed from the Redwani area and their dead bodies have reached home. The youth were killed when Government Forces laid a siege around the Hawoora area and Youth in large numbers hit the streets pelting stones on Government Forces.

Massive Clashes Erupt in Kulgam

July 07 One civilian has been critically injured during clashes at Hawoora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government Forces entered the area to lay a siege around the Hawoora area. However youth in large numbers came out on the streets and hurled stone on the vehicles of Government Forces who responded with massive tear smoke shelling. As per reports, one youth has been critically wounded during the ongoing clashes which erupted half an hour ago. Police officials told The Kashmiriyat that it was a normal search operation when some youth came out on the streets and tried to disrupt the operation. Details emerging.

Burhan Wani Anniversary- Tral Turned into a Military Garrison

July 07 Tral area of south Kashmir has been turned into a military garrison ahead of 2nd death anniversary of a Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani. At every main and sensitive points security forces have established checking points and every vehicle and pedestrian enroute to trak area is being checked, reports from multiple newspapers read. As per police sources all routes leading to tral will be closed in the evening and today non residents of Tral area will not be allowed to go towards tral area. Many Hurriyat leaders and religious clerics have been arrested so that no programme could take place in the area.
