Casual Labours Stage Protest in Anantnag- Demand Pending Wages, Regularization of Services

On Tuesday the casual labourers united front held a peaceful demonstration in Anantnag under the leadership of president Imran Ahmad Parray. The labourers, according to a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat demanded immediate regularization of their services. They said that during the protest demonstration all the covid SOP's were followed by maintaining social distance and wearing masks, after which scores of labourers submitted a memorandum to deputy commissioner Anantnag for regularization of their services before fresh requirement policy. The protestors demanded that if till then the services are not regularized, they will be bound to hold massive protests on the roads. Scores of residents including women from Downipawa assembled on the road connecting Achabal areas with Anantnag town and blocked it, alleging the administration has failed to address the problem despite several assurances. Mohammed Mufeez One person has died and four others injured while repairing an electricity line in the Nambal area of South Kashmir's Anantnag District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday, five persons received an electric shock while laying down an electric pole for a private company in the Nambal area of the Anantnag District. One among the five died on the spot and four others have shifted to a nearby hospital, Primary Health care in Mattan. An official identified the deceased as Anees Bhat, son of Abdul Rehman Bhat, a resident of Vail Nagbal Anantnag, a labour by profession.

Salman Shah A section of the District hospital of Anantnag in Janglat Mandi area of the South Kashmir town caught fire on Tuesday morning. Hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat that a building at the backside of the District hospital caught fire on Tuesday morning and the reason for the fire is unknown as of yet. The fire service vehicles have reached to the spot and are trying to douse off the flames, the officials said. Sheikh Nadeem/ Waris Shah At least three persons sustained injuries after collision between a JCB and Maruti Car in Buchoo Kokernag area of south-Kashmir's Anantnag district on Saturday afternoon. An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Gund Baba Khaleel locality of Sangam area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag District early on Thursday. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday night RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in this Anantnag area. The cordon continued for nearly two to three hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter. One Militant was arrested from the site of gunfight in an injured condition.
