Waris Shah Two Militants have been killed in the ongoing an encounter that broke out between government forces and militants in the Sirigufwara area of  Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday morning. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched in the area by a joint team of forces including Army’s 3RR, CRPF and JK police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the Sirigufwara area. He said that after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, they opened fire which was retaliated, this triggering an encounter. The official said that during the gunfight two Militants have been killed, who are yet to be identified. Meanwhile, the internet has been snapped in the area.

Ishfaq Wagay A Bullet ridden dead body of youth was found in Behak at Bovie Daksum forest area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag  district on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a male dead body with bullet wound was found lying in Daksum forest .Soon after getting the information Larnoo police along with Forensic team Anantnag  reached the spot. Police and forensic team traveled a distance of more than 4 hours on foot to reach the spot where the dead body was found, where Police found a 12 port rifle near the body of deceased and a mark of bullet on his body. Waris Shah Road accident took place at Aghanjipora Awantipora new bypass. A truck and a scooty collided, resulting in the death of the scooty driver. Although he was rushed to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. He had been identified as Nazir Ahmad Sofi resident of Muniwar area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district, Nazir was an ASI of Jammu Kashmir Police. Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.

Waris Shah A person was killed and many others injured during clashes over a land dispute in Guhnoo area of vailoo in kokernag of district Islamabad (Anantnag) Jammu Kashmir on Thursday . Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a feud between two groups turned violent resulting in the death of a person, while as many other were injured. The deceased has been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad sheikh, a resident of Guhnoo vailoo. Upon contacting the police, a police official told The Kashmiriyat that an FIR has been lodged into the incident and further investigation has been started. “The body of the deceased person has been handed over to the family for last rites”, he said.

Waris Shah The Iqbal memorial institute school, Dooru in Islamabad (Anantnag) illegaly conducted exams of various students on Monday morning, a police official said. He said that a case has been registered against the school for violation of Government norms for the lockdown and action will be taken against them. The official said that such illegal measures are risking lives of hundreds of students and exposing them to the threat of covid. "We want the educational institutes to abide by the norms laid down by the Government of India", the official said, adding that, strict action will be taken against any school who tries to violate the lockdown. In this particular incident FIR Number 60/2020 has been registered against the school in Police Station Dooru.

Sheikh Nadeem One lady was killed when a speeding vehicle hit her near the Donipowa area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) area. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a vehicle plying on the  Achabal- Anantnag main town road turned turtle causing injuries to one passenger. The passenger was immediately shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment, where she was declared brought dead on her arrival. She has been identified as  Naseena Banoo wife of Javid Ahmad khan, a resident of wangam shangus area in this SOuth Kashmir district. Meanwhile a Police official said that they have taken cognizance of the issue.

Waris Shah A 25-year-old youth on Saturday evening died in a road mishap in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a 25-year-old biker identified as Zahid Ahmad Najar son of Bashir Ahmad Najar of Kukar Pahalgam met with an accident at Batkoot when his two wheeler hit with a tree after he lost control over his speed. He was rushed to the District hospital in a critical condition however doctors declared him brought dead on arrival. Meanwhile Jammu Kashmir police has taken cognizance of this road mishap.

Waris Shah/ Sheikh Nadeem Two persons were  injured in bear attack in Gadool Bala area in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that two  persons including a male and female were working on Corn fields when a wild bear attacked on them. The attack left the two injured who were identified as Hajra Begum, and Abdul Rashid Sardhan both residents of Gadool Kokernag. The injured were rushed to SDH Kokernag, while one among them who was critically wounded has been referred to District hospital for advanced treatment.
