Khalid Jahangeer Resumes Charge as DC Islamabad (anantnag), Syed Abid is DDC Pulwama

ISLAMABAD
February 23 Khalid Jahangir today assumed the charge as Deputy Commissioner, of Islamabad (anantnag) in South Kashmir from Mohammad Younis Malik, outgoing  Deputy Commissioner at DC Office, here. Mr. Khalid Deputy Commissioner, after assuming the charge met the prominent media persons of the district and sought cooperation from them and the general public for the overall development of the district. The newly joined Deputy Commissioner also interacted with senior officers of the district administration including Additional Deputy Commissioner, ACR, Joint Director Planning, Deputy District Election Officer, & other senior officers. Meanwhile Syed Abid, the former DC of Srinagar has assumed charge as the District Development Commissioner of South Kashmir's Pulwama district.

45 Year Old Man Injured During Clashes in Islamabad (anantnag)

ISLAMABAD
February 23 A 45 year old man was injured after being hit with a stone in Lal Chowk area of Islamabad (anantnag) in South Kashmir on Saturday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Farooq Ahmad Bhat Son of Abdul Razaq Bhat, a Resident of Lalan Ganoor was hit by a stone on head in clashes which erupted on Saturday morning. Hospital Sources stated his condition to be critical.

February 16 Amid a complete shutdown in Islamabad township in South Kashmir, clashes have erupted between youth and Government Force personnel in the area. Scores of youth shouting slogans against the Police for not doing enough for the security of Kashmiris in Jammu, the youth hit the streets near Lal chowk area. Admin Conducts Market Checking in Islamabad (Anantnag) Township

February 12 Tawseef Nazir ADDC of Islamabad (anantnag) along with Secretary Municipal council, Food safety officer and other officials today conducted market checking in various areas of this South Kashmir township. During this checking on Tuesday afternoon, many erring traders were penalized. The checking was aimed at ensuring the quality and price control and to keep vigil on erring traders. During the inspection, the officials destroyed a huge quantity of edible items. Mattan, Chenab Valley Areas Without Electricity for Past Seven Days

February 12 The residents of Mattan areas in Islamabad (anantnag) district and Chenab Valley have complained that the areas have been without electricity for the past seven days. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the residents of areas including Chatisinghpora , Devipora, Kawarigam, Ranipora said that the villages are without electricity for the past seven days. "We are just three kilometers away from the grid station in Gopalpora of Islamabad, but still we have been in darkness since the last snowfall," a resident said. Women Patient in Islamabad (Anantnag) Dies on Cot while Being Carried to Hospital

ISLAMABAD
February 12 A woman patient died on the way to hospital in Ring mandoo area of Dooru in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Sources said that the lady identified as Tahira Bimla, resident of Ring mandoo was being carried on a cot to the hospital as the area is still cut off due to the non clearance of snow in the area. They said that the lady was suffering with severe pain post which a few persons carried her on a pot as the village is still cut off after the fresh snowfall. However, on the way to the hospital, she died of severe pain. Pertinently, snowfall on Wednesday had blocked all the streets in the valley, the towns and cities were cleared, however a large area in rurals still remains disconnected.

Bank Guard Dies of cardiac Arrest in Islamabad (anantnag)

February 12 A bank guard died of a cardiac arrest in Lal chowk area of Islamabad (anantnag) township in South Kashmir on Tuesday noon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat Mohammed Maqbool Mir son of Abdul Gaffar Mir fell down while performing his professional duty at Punjab National Bank, Branch Lal chowk in Islamabad on Thursday afternoon. He was rushed to the District hospital in Islamabad (anantnag) where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The deceased was a  Rajpora Pulwama and was working as currency chest guard at PNB Lal chowk.

PDP Member Rahim Rather Expresses Condolences With Avalanche Victim Families

February 10 The Former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Jammu Kashmir for Kokernag constituency on Sunday visited the avalanche hit areas in Kokernag. Abdul Rahim Rather, the former MLA as per a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat visited the families of people killed in the recent avalanches. Army Organizes Free Medical Camp Under Sadbhavana in Khundru
