July 29 There have been incidents of cloud bursts at many places in Kokernag area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district during the past few days, causing a lot of damage to agriculture and threat to the public lives. The areas that have suffered in the past few days include, Mathindoo, Rein-Arther, Guridraman, Ahlan Gadol, wandewalgam, Zalangam, Bindoo, Kokernag. There has been a lot of damage to crops and plantations and the flash floods have also caused errosion to the land and damaged few residential structures. July 29 One more youth from South Kashmir has picked arms and posed with an AK 47 rifle to tell his family that he has joined Militant ranks. The youth has been identified as Aarif Ahmed Mir Son of Abdul Rehman Mir a resident of Pahalgam area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Son of PDP MLA occupies Masjid Land, Dooru People Demand Action

July 27 Hundreds of people on Friday protested against the illegal accusation of Auqaf land by the son of the ex PDP vice president, Sartaj Madani. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that people holding the placards, "Put Sartaj Madani Behind Bars" started marching from Dooru Jamia Masjid and demanded punishment against the "illegal occupation" of Auqaf land by a son of Madni identified as Aroot. The President of Auqaf committee Masood Bodha while speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that Aroot has illegally occupied the Masjid land. July 26 Intense Clashes have erupted in Dialgam and Lal chowk area of  Islamabad township of South Kashmir on Thursday evening. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Freedom and pro Islam slogans threw stones on Government Forces deployed in the areas. The Forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting youth, however the clashes were going on when this report was filed.

Update: 5 CRPF men Injured- Massive Search operation Underway

July 26 Suspected Militants hurled a grenade on a CRPF patrol near Goriwan area in Bijbehara of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Thursday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that militants hurled a grenade on a party of 90 BN of CRPF men deployed on highway near Goriwan in which five CRPF men received injuries. The CRPF troops were rushed to the nearby Sub District hospital after which troops immediately laid down a siege around the area. Hospital sources confirmed the identity of injured as Pankaj Kumar, Nitin Kumar, B Kumar, Ominder Singh and Yoginder Singh. July 25 A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in Sheikhpora of Veer area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Wednesday evening. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched the anti Militancy operation after receiving an input about Militant movement in the area. Intense Clashes in Islamabad township

July 25 Intense clashes erupted in many areas of Islamabad township of South Kashmir on Wednesday after restrictions were lifted across the township. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth hit the streets after restrictions were lifted post the encounter that had erupted in the township early morning on Wednesday. Clashes began at Janglat Mandi, Kadipora, Ganjiwara, Dialgam and many areas as youth hit the streets throwing stones on Government Forces. The troops in retaliation fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting youth, eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat.

Restrictions Continue in Islamabad Despite Closure of Gunfight

July 25 Strict restrictions continue in Islamabad township despite that fact that gunfight has been declared over by Government Forces on Wednesday. Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that restrictions will continue in the township of Islamabad today as a preventive measure. Two Militants, One from Doda and another one from Kulgam were killed in the encounter that raged early morning in Kotwal Gali of Islamabad township. Curfew-like restrictions were imposed in the township and concertina wires were placed at many spots outside and inside the township to restrict public movement into the town. Mobile Internet and Train services were also immediately suspended.

2 Brothers, Owner of House where Encounter was held taken into Detention

July 25 Two members of the house, Abid and Tariq Khan sons of Nazir Ahmed Khan, the owner of the house where an encounter raged in Islamabad township have been taken into detention. Family Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Tariq, who is a driver by profession has been arrested allegedly from the township just now. Abid who is a shopkeeper has also been taken into detention along with his father, Nazir Ahmed Khan who has served more than 15 years in prison.
