Massive Search Operation Launched in Mattan After Militant Attack

ISLAMABAD
July 21 A Massive Search Operation has been launched by Jammu Kashmir Police and 3 RR of Indian Army in Bumzoo area of South Kashmir's Islamabad District. The Operation was launched after suspected Militants attacked a patrol party of CRPF at the KP Road area of the district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the operation has been launched to find the attackers who are believed to be hiding in the area. The operation was going on when this report was filed.

Gunshots Heard in Mattan

July 21 Massive gunshots have been heard around Bumzoo at Mattan area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district in South Kashmir. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that massive gunshots were heard in the area which created panic in the area. As per initial reports suspected Militant fired upon a CRPF Party near Nambal area in Mattan. Police officials told The Kashmiriyat that Militants attacked 90 BN CRPF near Bumzoo area of Islamabad, but nobody was injured in the attack.

Another CASO Launched in Islamabad

July 2 The Indian Army's 19RR and Jammu Kashmir Police have launched a massive Cordon and search operation in Anderwan and Shalnad Villages of Kokernag area in South Kashmir's Islamabad. Officials confirmed that the CASO was launched following specific inputs about Militant movement in the villages. The Forces have cordoned off the villages and sealed the entry and exit points before initiating a search operation in the area. This is pertinently the second CASO launched in the district since morning, a CASO is also going on in Krangsoo, Mattan area of the District.

July  20 An Anti militancy Cordon and Search operation has been launched at Krangsoo of Mattan area in South Kashmir's Islamabad District on Friday Morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 1 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police jointly launched the cordon and search operation in the locality. Following a specific input about Militant movement, the troops have launched a door to door search operation in the area. Details emerging.

Labourer Dies while Unloading Cement in Verinag

ISLAMABAD
July 19 SHEIKH NADEEM/ WARIS SHAH A labour died on the spot when he was unloading cement at main market Verinag after a tipper dumper hit him on Thursday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the labourer identified as Lateef Ahmad Cheechi son of Shams u Din Cheechi, a resident of Verinag area in South Kashmir's Islamabad died while he was unloading the cement. Police officials told The Kashmiriyat that his body has been handed over to his family for his last rites.

Massive CASO Launched in Pahalgam Area

July 17 The Government Forces on Tuesday Night have launched a cordon and search operation in Chanigam, Pahalgamarea of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag)n District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 3 RR of Indian Army, 96 Battalion of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police have launched the operation. The anti militancy operation has been launched following a specific input about Militant movement in the area. A door to door search operation is being conducted by the forces after all the entry and exit points were sealed, a local told The Kashmiriyat. Details emerging.

FIR Registered Against Tehsildar Dooru For Resuming Charge

July 16 On the directions of Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan the Jammu Kashmir Police has lodged an FIR against the Tehsildar of Dooru. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the Tehsildar was placed under suspension the last month after he was found accused in allowance of Illegal Constructions on Srinagar- Banihal Expressway. The Tehsildar after being found guilty was immediately placed under suspension the last month along with three other employees of the revenue Department. Police Arrest A Doctor and Chemist in Islamabad Township

ISLAMABAD
July 15 The Government Forces have arrested two persons in Janglat Mandi area of South Kashmir's Islamabad township on Sunday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a chemist identified as Bilal Ahmed Ganie son of Mohammed Sultan Ganie, a resident of Shirpora was arrested from his shop in Janglat Mandi by Forces. Meanwhile Forces have also arrested a Doctor identified as Adil Rashid Shapoo son of Abdul Rashid Shapoo of Ashajipora of Islamabad township during the same raid. The Exact reasons of the arrest could not be known yet. Police Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the duo have been arrested merely for  questioning.
