Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that a representation from casual labourers and daily wagers of Verinag Development Authority (VDA) held a protest demonstration demanding to release pending wages. Casual labourers and daily wagers said they are working in the department for a long and they are yet to be regularized because of which they face hardships. One Dead in Road Accident in Anantnag Area

Waris Shah One person died during a road accident in the Brakpora area of Anantnag district in South Kashmir early on Thursday morning. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a road tipper bearing the registration number  JK03A 7648 hit a pedestrian namely Naseeb Ahmad son of Khazir Wani aged 50 near the B.Ed college in Brakpora injuring him critically. Naseeb Ahmed was shifted to the Government medial College in Anantnag for treatment, however, upon his arrival at the hospital, he was declared brought dead by the Doctors. The body of the deceased who was a resident of Wangam area in Shangus Anantnag will be handed over to the family after completion of the postmortem, the official said.

One person was killed, another injured in a road accident in the Nanil area of Mattan in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district.
