Two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter that raged between government forces and militants in forest area of Shalgul Srigufwara in Bijbehara belt of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday. On Wednesday, an encounter broke out between the militants and security forces in the Shalgul forest area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. The gunfight took place after security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of a specific information about the presence of militants in the area. A doctor died due to a massive cardiac arrest in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday afternoon.   Chief medical officer Anantnag, Mukhtar Ahmad Shah told that the doctor namely Aashiq Hussain from Lal Bazar area of Srinagar suffered a massive cardiac arrest at his clinic in Anantnag town who was posted at Shangus Public Health Centre (PHC) IN Anantnag.   He said that Ashiq was immediately shifted to Government Medical College Anantnag where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The Government forces on Sunday claimed to have bust a hideout in Pahalgam forests in Anantnag district and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition.
