On Wednesday, an encounter broke out between the militants and security forces in the Shalgul forest area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. The gunfight took place after security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of a specific information about the presence of militants in the area. A Youth from Anantnag township who was missing for the past several weeks has been found dead in the Bon Dialgam area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Tuesday afternoon. A doctor died due to a massive cardiac arrest in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday afternoon.   Chief medical officer Anantnag, Mukhtar Ahmad Shah told that the doctor namely Aashiq Hussain from Lal Bazar area of Srinagar suffered a massive cardiac arrest at his clinic in Anantnag town who was posted at Shangus Public Health Centre (PHC) IN Anantnag.   He said that Ashiq was immediately shifted to Government Medical College Anantnag where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The Government forces on Sunday claimed to have bust a hideout in Pahalgam forests in Anantnag district and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition.
