Two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter that raged between government forces and militants in forest area of Shalgul Srigufwara in Bijbehara belt of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday. IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that two unidentified militants have been killed so far while as the operation is on in the area. On Wednesday, security forces clarified that no militant has been killed in Shalgul area of Bijbehera in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district, adding that the firing has stopped and searches are on. “No militant has been killed in Shalgul area of Bijbehara so far," they said. "Firing has stopped and searches are being conducted in the woods,” a senior security official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Earlier, Kashmir Zone police tweeted that four unidentified militants were killed in an encounter at Shalgul, Bijbehara, however, the police deleted the tweet according to a report by KNO.

A doctor died due to a massive cardiac arrest in South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Monday afternoon.   Chief medical officer Anantnag, Mukhtar Ahmad Shah told that the doctor namely Aashiq Hussain from Lal Bazar area of Srinagar suffered a massive cardiac arrest at his clinic in Anantnag town who was posted at Shangus Public Health Centre (PHC) IN Anantnag.   He said that Ashiq was immediately shifted to Government Medical College Anantnag where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
