Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the family of Umis Ahmad wani of Chawalgam - Kulgam said that they have released statements and videos where they have appealed for him to return back home. His father, Nisar Ahmad Wani said that Umis had gone missing on the 26th of August, 2020. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a father and daughter from the Manigam area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district have resigned from Indian National Congress by taking on the Social media platforms. People have been asked to stay indoors and barricades have been placed in main town Kulgam. The traffic is off the roads and shops have been closed. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range Vijay Kumar Friday said that top Jaish-e-Muhammad commander, who was one among the most wanted 12 militant commanders, was killed among two others in an encounter at South Kashmir’s Kulgam. He said the slain Jaish commander has been identified as Waleed Bhai, who was the IED expert and had escaped from the cordon four times so far. Waris Shah Three Militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out between government forces and militants in the  Nagnad area of  DH Pora in Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday morning. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched in the area by a joint team of forces including Army’s 09RR, CRPF and JK police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the Nagnad area.
