Large Queues of Voters Turn up to Cast Votes in Noorabad

April 29 4459 votes have been polled in Devsar assembly segment of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Monday. A large queue of voters was seen rushing to the polling booths in their respective areas in this assembly segment, where 4459 votes have been polled out of a total of 91288 voters. Similarly in Noorabad a total of 4509 voters have cast their votes taking the poll percentage to 5.9%, Polling officials told The Kashmiriyat. April 28 Amid clashes that erupted in various areas of South Kashmir's Kulgam District, Polling Booths have been safely established in various areas. Army officials told The Kashmiriyat that despite intense clashes having erupted in various areas of the district, polling stations have been successfully installed in Khudwani, Quimoh and Buchroo. Polling Booths Shifted from Various Kulgam Areas- Fresh Clashes Reported from Several Areas

April 28 In anticipation of clashes, the administration has shifted some pooling booths from various areas of South Kashmir's district of Kulgam on Sunday evening. Official Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the polling booth in Kulgam's Bugam has been shifted to Kharmadpora as Bugam has been one of the most volatile zones post the killing of Burhan wani in July 2016. Earlier during the 2014 Assembly polls, the area witnessed a negligible voter turnout. Similarly in Zazripora/ Awgam the polling booth has been Keharwat area of South Kashmir's Kulgam Districts. April 28 Suspected Militants on Sunday night hurled a grenade on a poling booth in Mirwani in Devsar area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that suspected Militants on Sunday night hurled a grenade towards a polling booth located in Mirwani area of Devsar in South Kashmir's Kulgam district. As per initial reports nobody has been injured in this attack. A Search operation has been launched in the area to nab the attackers. A Police official upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that nothing as such has happened.

April 28 Ahead of crucial Lok Sabha elections scheduled for the Kulgam District of Anantnag Lok Sabha seat for tomorrow, the polling parties have been attacked in various areas of the district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that youth hurled stones on vehicles of the polling staff including the Government Forces in Khudwani Ghat area of Kulgam district and broke window panes of several vehicles. April 26 Intense clashes erupted in Ashmuji area of Quimoh in South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Friday evening as the Polling officials reached the area to set up a polling booth in the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro independence and Anti India Slogans attacked the polling party which included CRPF and Army men as well with stones asking them to go back from the area. April 24 Addressing party workers convention at Circuit House in Shopian, Mehbooba claimed that PDP took a lead against their opponents in the first phase of polling for Anantnag parliamentary constituency.
