Situation Tense in Kulgam Village- Army Asks people to Come out of their Homes

August 17 The Locals of Bhan area in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on friday night have been asked to come out of their houses by the Government Forces, Locals told The Kashmiriyat. As per locals after a stone throwing incident in the area, the forces entered the Bhan area in Kulgam and vandalized property in the area after barging into several houses. August 17 Intense Clashes erupted in Bhan area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Friday night when youth threw stones on Forces passing through the area. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that scores of youth threw stones on a patrolling party of Government Forces after which forces swung into action and fired tear smoke shells at the protesters. The protesters regrouped in massive numbers and continued stone throwing, meanwhile reports suggest that three youth have been arrested from the Bhan locality in Quimoh area of Kulgam. August 16 The Locals of Wani Mohallah Locality in Khudwani area of Quimoh Tehsil in South kashmir's Kulgam district on Thursday accused the Government Forces of vandalization in the area. August 16 Following an input about Militant Movement, the Cordon and search operation of the day has been launched in Wani Mohallah locality of Khudwani in South Kashmir's Kulgam District. Forces Vandalize Property in Kulgam Area-Arrest 03 Youth

August 14 The Locals of Pooniwah area in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Tuesday Night accused the Government Forces of vandalizing property in the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that some youth threw stones on the Army vehicles after which the Army men stopped their vehicles and barged inside homes, vandalizing everything that met their eye. They said the forces also assaulted many youth and did not even spare the old adding that three youth were taken into detention. The Locals said that the Forces went berserk and broke the window panes and doors of many houses after they entered many houses in the locality.

Road Accident in Pahalgam- Three Members of a Family Injured

August 14 Three members of a family were injured on Tuesday, when the vehicle they were travelling in, skidded off the road and plunged into Lidder River near Langanbal area of Pahalgam in South Kashmir. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the vehicle on way to Pahalgam skidded off the road and rolled into the Lidder River. All the injured persons were rescued by police and shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment. The SHO of the Pahalgam area confirmed the incident to The Kashmiriyat and said that all family members are stable.

One Youth Arrested During Nocturnal Raid in South Kashmir Area

August 13 The Government forces raided the Ghat Redwani Locality in Khudwani area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district and arrested a youth during the intervening night of Sunday and Saturday. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that one person has been arrested in the Khudwani locality when forces raided the Ghat Village around 1230 in the night. They identified the youth as Aadil Ahmed Lon son of Muzaffar Ahmed Lone and said the Forces including Jammu Kashmir Police barged inside the house of the youth and took him into detention. August 10 Massive clashes erupted in Paniwa area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District late night on Friday when Youth threw stones on vehicles of Government Forces passing through the area. Cleanliness Drive Launched in Kulgam District

August 10 The Block Development Officer Pahloo Kulgam, Javid Ahmad Sheikh on Friday initiated the 'Road and Public places cleaning drive'. The drive was started at Arigutnoo Block of Kulgam District in South Kashmir and during the day long exercise, Cow dung and other wastes along Road sides were removed  using bulldozers and Tractors. The inhabitants of the area provided full cooperation in this endeavor and also resolved to keep their surroundings clean henceforth. The local people have thanked the Rural Development Department for initiating this action and have expected that such exercises be continued in future as well.
